SEO - social-media

Since the mid 1990’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has been the key to getting anyone’s website visible on the internet. What’s the use of having a nice looking web site if no one can find it. Sure you can print millions of business cards with your web address on it and drop them from a plane, but that would be littering.

In the beginning, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) was simply adding your website address to a mass of search engines using a program and adding repetitive keywords in meta tags, as well as, your content. That was the good ole days, right? Not really. Yahoo was the big search engine back in the early 90’s and it really didn’t monitor abuse. Searches became annoying and troublesome. Spyware and unwanted results plagued our computers. The end result was an unusable computer or most people not relying on search results to give them anything. Shopping was a big question mark, because of the security risk of using your credit card online. Simply put, it was not important to get your site on the internet, because it was not being used like it is today.

In 1996 Google came into the picture and changed everything. Google no longer used meta tags and they monitored repetitive keywords. It blacklisted sites that abused the search process and now it became more difficult for the average person to get their site even listed on Google. So that is where we are today with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I have been successfully adding websites to all major search engines and getting them listed on the first page. Of course. SEO (Search Engine Optimization), or Organic Search placement relies on geo targeting, which keeps your search within your area. After all, if you search for “hosting”, you will probably get a bunch of results from all over the US and a lot of information about hosting. If you search for “hosting al“, you will see Alabama Hosting is right there on top. Same goes for “websites alabama”  for Alabama Websites. You can vary the search terms if you like. Those were just examples.

If you have a website and you aren’t getting listed, please contact me and I might be able to help. I design sites with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) in mind, because it’s not just about keyword density, it’s about understanding how search bots work. It’s a monthly charge usually, but I can certainly help your site with a one time fee. It really depends on your site and you need.

If you don’t have a web site and you have a business in need of growing, please contact me. Your in a great position, because I can include a nice custom CMS website that will go along with your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) maintenance. I always recommend SEM (Search Engine Marketing) with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) because SEM (Search Engine Marketing) is a lot faster.

Another part of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is social networking. This includes social sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. There are a lot more but you get the picture. If you create an account with these social sites you can promote your web site. The more sites linked to your site, called back-links, the higher up Google, will place you on the organic search placement.
